The project focuses on the interior design of a studio apartment located in a boutique residential building in the Timpuri Noi area, intended for a family who uses it occasionally for short stays. The spatial organization responds to this pattern of use and to the dual orientation of the studio, which allowed for a clear separation between the living and sleeping areas.
The main organizing element is a custom-built furniture volume positioned between the two zones. On the bedroom side, it provides wardrobe storage; towards the living room, it becomes a bookcase and integrates the TV; while on the hallway side, it accommodates storage for household items. This solution brings several functions together within a single volume without visually fragmenting the interior.
The living area brings together the kitchen, dining space, and lounge, all directly connected to the loggia. The living room includes a sofa bed which, together with the separation from the bedroom, allows the space to comfortably accommodate the family for several days, providing two distinct sleeping areas when needed.
The material palette combines wood-effect finishes, taupe tones, and upholstered furniture in light colours, maintaining a consistent visual language throughout the interior. Lighting is predominantly architectural, with decorative lighting concentrated around the dining area. In the bedroom, wallpaper in the same tonal range is highlighted by decorative wall-mounted fixtures, creating a more intimate atmosphere than in the living area.
To control natural light, light-coloured curtains and blackout drapes were selected for the bedroom, while black aluminium blinds were introduced in the living room and kitchen. This solution responds to the different heights and proportions of the openings while allowing more flexible control of daylight and maintaining a generous amount of natural light in the living areas.
Overall, the design makes efficient use of the available space through clearly defined functions, integrated storage, and the flexibility required for occasional use.
