Authors’ Comment

A space shaped around family, stories, and the freedom to live differently.
The concept begins with three personal worlds: the wife’s nonconformist and visionary spirit, the daughter’s playful and imaginative universe, and the husband’s relaxed world, shaped by music, holidays, and moments of quiet.
The library becomes the element that brings these worlds together within a single composition.
The timber structure follows the walls and continues across the ceiling, transforming the space into an almost scenographic setting. Natural wood, light textiles, and abundant daylight create a warm and familiar atmosphere, while the geometry introduces rhythm and an element of surprise.
At the heart of the space, the mural brings colour, playfulness, and storytelling. Abstract forms, arches, and overlapping geometric shapes do not illustrate a specific story, but rather create an open-ended universe — a character that changes with the viewer.
Guitars, books, and personal objects become part of the architecture of the home, while the warmth of the timber and carefully placed furniture accents subtly evoke the atmosphere of a holiday — relaxed, warm, and slightly escapist.
The same idea continues throughout the house: the kitchen remains visually connected to the living room through a glass wall; the daughter’s room transforms furniture into a setting for play and imagination; and the staircase becomes a playful vertical connection between the different levels. Upstairs, the two bedrooms create their own distinct worlds — one among the clouds, the other within a mysterious forest.
At its core, the house is a sequence of experiences: reading, listening to music, talking, playing, relaxing, observing, and sleeping.
The Mural Painting Library is a portrait of the family expressed through architecture — a place where the natural and the playful, order and unpredictability, coexist effortlessly.
