Authors’ Comment

To make the people of Bucharest take an interest in the hill of Filaret and also to atract more tourists, we’ve chosen to revive the symbol of the area that used to be one of the major poles of the capital: Filaret Train Station. In the last decade it was noticed that the Romanian consumer is in search of places and events of cultural and commercial nature and this is why organizing an open area for various events is the main pawn to revive the Filaret area. Using the interior courtyard of the station as a concert hall, unconventional theater, exhibition hall, museum or temporary space for some themed fairs, covers up all 4 seasons throughout the year, so that the consumers would acknowledge the area as a constant attraction. The complex configuration of the building’s interior spaces offers the possibility to ensure both commercial and leisure purposes, such as: café, exhibition hall, photo studio, workshop hall, various shops and boutiques.
