Authors’ Comment

ReCREATE is an 800sqm fitness gym designed in an open space area inside an office building. The design proposal is a response to the client’s previous gym branding concept. The space is organized into 5 areas: Reception, strength training, cardio area, fitness studio and lockers. Each of these spaces offers the athletes an unique design while maintaining the overall design approach. In the lockers the chosen design kept the geometry but a differentiated color palette, additionally the women’s locker includes a boudoir area. The gym has a hexagonal metallic skeleton with a variable geometry for the TRX training in order to provide multiple training options. The color palette assures a strong contrast but simultaneously simplifies the general perception of the space by introducing a limited set of color combinations.
