Authors’ Comment

The challenge of the project was to find a design line that would embrace both the elegance of the Marriott Hotel's general framework and the dynamism characteristic of a fitness room.
The laitmotiv of the space are the oblique lines, a tribute to the movement, embracing, as a second layer, the entire space: the floor, the ceilings, the furniture. Emphasized by large reflective surfaces placed in key areas, the cuts materialize in a tangible form, decomposing and uniting the space at the same time.
The general dark gray background, in contrast to the two-tone wood, brings a refinement and modernity to the design. The materials used and the chromatic were designed to complete and complement each other: wood-concrete, natural wood-gray shades. The strong contrast is given by the lounge furniture, with upholstery in strong colors, which brings a cheerful touch to the whole atmosphere.
The access to the Spa, though slightly disfavored by position, is announced in the general framework of the space by a volumetric shaped funnel and by intentional excess of natural raw green. This creates a strong break in the whole reception , guiding the public to the Spa area as a relaxation oasis promise.
