Authors’ Comment

The village where the single family house is to be built, the village of Suceagu, is located in the commune of Baciu, on the hills that are in the immediate vicinity of Cluj. The location is one that calls to contemplation, located on the edge of a valley crossing a gorge, a former orchard area, deserted for years. Our generous land, with no neighbors built, opens to the unobstructed view of the neighboring village, with its several houses covered with ceramic tiles, skattered in nature.
.
The new house, which will accommodate the four-member family, will be made up of a series of trails whose explorations link together a succession of paintings. To cover all the necessary spaces and keep the scale of the neighboring village, we choose to build three volumes, which, like a peasant's household, have a courtyard withdrawn from the street. If the nature is present in each room in the form of a framed picture, the spaces of the house must be uncovered, from each main space, separating a "secret room": an office is reached from the living room, a wine cellar is reached from the kitchen.
